Texas’ Largest Undergraduate Institution Finds E-Mail Security with Webroot

Problem: As a network of seven community colleges, Dallas County Community College District (DCCD) relies on email for timely communication between faculty, staff and administrators. The network was receiving approximately 1 to 3 million emails each day—and 95 percent of these messages were spam. Two anti-spam appliances were in use, but they were ineffective and difficult to manage.

Solution: The DCCCD needed a new email security solution that would provide better spam filtering, simpler email management and improved anti-malware protection. As a long-time user of Webroot AntiSpyware Corporate Edition, a desktop security solution that protects against spyware, DCCCD decided to evaluate Webroot Email Security.

Result: The service blocks as many as 60,000 more spam messages each day than both of the district’s previous anti-spam appliances combined. In fact, the results achieved within the first few weeks were so impressive that the DCCCD decided to fully implement the service before the trial was even complete.
